Royal LePage Lannon Realty Basketeers 2020
While all our lives have been impacted by COVID-19, the effects have been especially harmful for women experiencing domestic violence. Economic stress, life pressures and general anxiety are escalating abusive behaviours and causing more women to be fearful for their lives and the lives of their children.
Our local shelters are continuing to keep women and children safe during this pandemic while helping them rebuild lives that are free from violence and abuse. Unfortunately, many of their fundraising events have been cancelled and they need our help now more than ever.
You can help by participating in our
Basketeers campaign!
This year things look a little different. To maximize everyone's safety, instead of asking donors to shop and make a basket, we are asking individuals and groups to consider making financial donations—and to let us take care of the rest!
- Laura Liggins Classroom & Woodcrest School 1 Basket + $365
- Avenue II - $200
- Canadian Federation of University Women Thunder Bay Club - $250
- Eden Hannah - 2 Baskets and $300 on donations page
- Royal LePage Lannon Realty Ownership Team - $2,000
The Basketeers chapter will purchase gift cards, assemble them as gift bundles, wrap them beautifully, and donate them to our local shelters. The shelters will distribute the gift bundles the same way they do with baskets each year to a woman transitioning from a shelter to their new home. Although we may not have the joy of shopping, the gift cards will still give the recipients the new beginning they truly deserve. We hope you agree.
Click "Make a donation" on the left hand sidebar and either "donate without sponsoring a team or individual" or search for a Basketeer champion you may know!

Note: the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation issues tax receipts in February for gifts of $20 or more made in the previous calendar year.
