Machu Picchu Challenge for Shelter

Welcome to my Machu Picchu Challenge for Shelter fundraising page!

Royal LePage professionals from across Canada, myself included, have committed to raise $5,000 each for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation in this most ambitious and unique Machu Picchu Challenge For Shelter. Once I have reached my fundraising goal I will have the opportunity to join my fellow fundraisers on a trek to the lost city of Machu Picchu in Peru! This trip will come out of my pocket, my airfare and travel expenses are not coming out of the donations provided by the wonderful people who have chosen to provide support.

During this 8 day experience, we will be trekking at high altitude, camping in tents, and forgoing showers, electricity and cell service (the horror, haha). It won't be easy, but each step I take will make walking away from violence possible for abused women and their children.

Did you know that every night in Canada more than 3,000 women and their 2,500 children stay in a shelter to escape domestic violence? In many cases, these women are literally running for their lives and demonstrating incredible bravery. Each dollar we raise and every step we take will make it easier for women and children to walk safely away from violence. If you are like me, you personally know someone who has been affected by violence or abuse, either in their adulthood or as a child. Thankfully, the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is helping to put an end to violence and abuse.
