Welcome to Norm and Becky's Machu Picchu Challenge for Shelter fundraising page.
Did you know that every night in Canada more than 3,000 women and their 2,500 children stay in a shelter to escape domestic violence? In many cases, these women are literally running for their lives and demonstrating incredible bravery.
In August, 2015 we will be trekking to the lost city of Machu Pichhu in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and raising funds to help these women and children. As Royal LePage writes off all administrative costs for the Shelter Foundation, every penny of every tax-deductible dollar you donate makes it to a shelter where it will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of women and children who live under the threat of violence.
For 8 days, our friends and colleagues from Royal LePage offices across Canada will be trekking at high altitude, sleeping in tents, and going without running water, electricity and cell service. To be eligible to participate, we each must raise at least $10,000 for our local women's shelters. The money we raise will benefit the YWCA Crisis Shelter and Saskatoon Interval House. It won't be easy - We will be preparing physically and mentally for the challenge for months. Each dollar we raise and every step we take will make it easier for women and children to walk safely away from violence.
Let's put an end to violence and abuse. Please click the SPONSOR ME link at the top left side of this page to help me reach my fundraising goal. Thank you for supporting women and children in our community who are rebuilding their lives after violence.
Please note: The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation issues tax receipts in February for all donations of $20 or more made in the previous calendar year.
